The Vision and Motto of Latter-day Lights Academy

Our Vision

Families in Latter-day Lights Academy are united by their desires to fill their children with a love of the good, true, and beautiful in a heart-warming and Christ-centered atmosphere. We are focused on building Warriors for Christ, who love Him, who put on the whole armor of God, and hold up His light. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation of all learning. We embrace the principles of The Well-Educated Heart and seek to warm, enlighten, nurture, and strengthen our children’s hearts, minds, spirits, and bodies through poetry, art, story, music, nature, devotionals, and engaging learning experiences. We also strive to inspire a love for America and The Constitution of The United States. The mothers of this co-op are encouraged to feed their own souls through participation in a Mothers of Influence group. These shared experiences will provide a base for the mothers and children to strengthen one another, and build meaningful, uplifting, and enduring relationships.

Educational Philosophy of LDLA

Christ-Centered First and foremost, Latter-day Lights Academy is centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ. We align ourselves with the doctrines and principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. *We do not represent the church in any official capacity, though we are active, covenant-keeping members of the faith. Basic Information

Basic Information Location: Elk Ridge, Utah (classes distributed between several homes in the same neighborhood) Day of the Week : Thursday Time : 9:30am-Noon; optional afternoon activities on occasion Daily Schedule: 9:30- Devotional: We begin all together in one home with a song, prayer, scripture, gospel message, the pledge of allegiance, a brief American history lesson, and general announcements. 10:00-Noon- Classes: Classes separate and travel to their respective locations for age appropriate, heart-based activities. Noon-2:00- Optional Afternoon Activities : afternoon park play during the fall and spring where m others and kids eat lunch, talk, and play together. Occasionally we have other afternoon activities (youth temple trips, mini clubs, holiday parties, etc.). Social In addition to our amazing weekly classes, we have created several opportunities to allow the children, youth, mothers, and families to socialize and build relationships with one another. The mothers and children of LDLA have created some wonderful friendships through these avenues.
